HOLYWATER is a project implemented in the area of Prespa Park, the first protected cross-border (CB) area in the Balkans. Prespa Park was founded in 2000 in a Joint Statement by the Prime Ministers of Greece, Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia. The overall objective of the project is the organization of all the cultural, environmental and tourist information concerning the cross-border area of Prespa with the use of new technologies.

ToCulture – Promote tourism and Culture through the water

The project “Promote tourism and Culture through the water” with the acronym “ToCulter”, aims to promote tourism in the cross-border region of Greece – Republic of North Macedonia with emphasis on important water bodies and thermal springs, utilizing modern technology, innovative forms of tourism promotion as well as the improvement of the overall tourism product through training actions. The purpose of the project is the organization of cities with thermal springs (spa towns), ensuring high quality of the tourist product, the formation of a common tourist identity with specialization in each region, promotion and advertising as well as innovative applications. The expected results of the project are the tourist promotion of the areas with thermal springs, the assurance and promotion of the quality policy that the partners will follow, the increase of visitation in the areas and the provision of high quality services of the tourist and non-tourist enterprises of the application area.

On 6th of July the Capitalization Event of all S.0.1.3. Priority projects funded by the Program IPA CBC “Greece – Republic of North Macedonia 2014 – 2020” took place in Thessaloniki. On this event the project managers of 12 (twelve) project presented their achievements.

On this Capitalization event 36 participants attended where project managers have presented the achievements of the projects. Among the presented projects is the ABOVE project for which you can read in the presented document.

First progress report

Following the Article 4 from the Subsidy Contracts signed and the Article 2.5 from the Project Implementation Manual in force, we submit the Progress report for implementation of our project Above for the period January – June 2022, this year.
As a lead beneficiary we take the obligation to implement the project in collaboration with our other two partners: Greek Italian Chamber of commerce of Thessaloniki and Tourism Organization of Thessaloniki.
According to Timetable frame of activities we can confirm this situation.
The Subside contract is sign by the lead beneficiary and the Managing Authority on 03.03.2022 this year, so the obligation for implementation is based on this contract date.

Work package 1. Preparation activities:
1.1 The Lead beneficiary and all partners have registered this project to there National European institutions as a project beneficiaries, were taken a TAX number for the financial registration and starting with the process for implementation.
1.2 Project management: the recruitment of 1 person for implementation project is on the way and soon the election will be done from the side of the Lead beneficiary. a PP3 partner had proceeded to hire a person to support deliverable 2.3.4.
1.3 Partners team meetings: The first kick off meeting have been done and there was send a report from this meeting to EU representatives. Also partners have three zoom meetings for implementation project and big correspondence by electronic communication.
1.4 Quality management: From all partners have been selected person from existing staff dedicated to the project management.

Work package 2. Information and publicity:
2.1 Communication plan have been prepared and sent to JTS of EU representatives. Still waiting for approval.
The other activities from this package 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 are under preparation with specifications for
publication according to EU policy from all partners in the project.

Work package 3. Recording and processing:
3.1 Drone video footage filming: from Italian partner according to this activity have been selected on public proceed, external experts for film task according to EU policy.
3.2 Points of interest identification: It is in the phase of starting the activity by Italian partner.
3.3, 3.4 and 3.5 activities: The other partners are waiting for first clips in a line with activity 3.1, to start with theirs further activities which are directly related with this topic.

Work package 4. Enhance Attractiveness and 5.Improve capacity:
the activities of these two groups have not been started due to the time frame which is a bit later for them according to the action plan. However, the first contacts and observations about them have been made between the partners themselves and additional information will follow according to the
time frame and the next Progress reports.
